This Privacy Policy describes how Twice As Good Hair (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you visit twiceasgoodhair.com (the “Site”), make a purchase, contact us, or interact with us through our social media messaging assistant or other text/SMS communications (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Site or Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Our Site is hosted on the Shopify platform, which provides us with the e-commerce infrastructure used to sell our products to you.

1. Information We Collect

  • Contact Information: name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address.
  • Order Information: products purchased, order history, payment details (processed securely by our payment processor; we do not store full payment card numbers).
  • Hair Profile Information: details you voluntarily share with us through our website, forms, or our Instagram/TikTok messaging assistant about your hair type, hair goals, or hair/scalp concerns, used solely to provide personalized product recommendations.
  • Communications Data: the content of messages you send us via email, contact forms, live chat, Instagram, TikTok, or SMS/text message, and your consent preferences for marketing and non-marketing text messages.
  • Automatically Collected Information: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and similar usage data collected via cookies and similar technologies.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Process and fulfill your orders, including shipping, billing, and customer service;
  • Respond to inquiries and provide the personalized hair-care product recommendations you request;
  • Send you requested SMS/text messages, email updates, and, where you have opted in, marketing communications;
  • Improve our Site, products, and Service;
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse; and
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. SMS / Text Messaging Terms

By providing your mobile phone number to Twice As Good Hair through our website opt-in form, checkout, or our Instagram/TikTok messaging assistant, and by affirmatively checking the applicable consent box(es), you agree to receive recurring automated and/or manual text messages (SMS/MMS) from Twice As Good Hair, including (depending on your selection): marketing messages about special offers, discounts, and promotions, and/or non-marketing messages such as order updates, hair-care recommendation follow-ups, and customer service communications. Consent to receive marketing text messages is never required as a condition of purchasing any product or service.

Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your interactions with us and the program(s) you opt into. As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. If you have questions about your text or data plan, please contact your wireless carrier.

How to Opt Out: You can cancel SMS messages at any time by texting “STOP” to the number from which you are receiving messages. After you text “STOP,” we will send you a one-time confirmation message that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from that program. If you want to start receiving messages again, simply opt in again the same way you did the first time, and we will resume sending messages.

How to Get Help: If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program, you can reply with the keyword “HELP” for more assistance, or contact us directly using the information in Section 13 below.

Carriers: Carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and other participating U.S. wireless carriers, are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No Third-Party Sharing of Mobile Information: No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in/consent data to any third party for marketing or promotional purposes, under any circumstances.

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our Site uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, analyze traffic, and support advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Site.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with:

  • Service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing, shipping/fulfillment, email and SMS delivery (including our customer messaging platform), and customer support, solely to support those services and under confidentiality obligations;
  • Shopify, our e-commerce platform provider, to operate the Site and process transactions;
  • Law enforcement or regulators when required by law, subpoena, or legal process; and
  • A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.

As stated above, mobile opt-in information and SMS consent data are never shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect the information you provide to us, both online and offline. Sensitive information (such as payment card data) is encrypted during transmission. Access to personally identifiable information is limited to employees and service providers who need it to perform their job functions. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights & Choices

You may, at any time, by contacting us using the information in Section 13 below:

  • Request to know what personal information we have collected about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate information;
  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal recordkeeping requirements;
  • Opt out of marketing emails by using the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email; and
  • Opt out of text messages at any time by replying “STOP” to any message.

We will not discriminate against you (for example, by denying products or services, charging different prices, or providing a different level of quality) for exercising any of the rights described in this Privacy Policy.

8. Additional Privacy Rights for Other U.S. State Residents

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's consumer privacy law, including the laws of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Florida, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Maryland, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and Rhode Island, among others. Subject to certain exceptions, these laws generally give you the right to:

  • Confirm whether we are processing your personal information and access that information;
  • Correct inaccuracies in your personal information;
  • Request deletion of your personal information;
  • Obtain a copy of the personal information you previously provided to us, in a portable format, where applicable; and
  • Opt out of the processing of your personal information for purposes of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, or certain profiling, where applicable.

We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. If you use a browser or device feature that sends an opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, we will treat that signal as a valid request to opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information, to the extent applicable. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 13 below. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require proof of the agent's authorization and may need to verify your identity directly before responding. If we deny your request, you may have the right to appeal that decision by contacting us using the same information.

9. California Privacy Rights

This section applies to California residents and supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy, as required by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the “CCPA”).

Categories of Personal Information We Collect: In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, as defined by the CCPA: identifiers (such as your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address); commercial information (such as products purchased and order history); internet or other electronic network activity information (such as browsing activity on our Site); and, where you choose to share it, information regarding your hair-care preferences and concerns.

Sources of Personal Information: We collect this information directly from you (through the Site, checkout, forms, customer service, and our social media messaging assistant) and automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you use the Site.

Purpose for Collection: We use the categories of personal information described above for the business and commercial purposes described in Section 2 of this Privacy Policy, including fulfilling orders, providing the recommendations you request, sending the messages you have opted into, and improving our Site and Service.

Disclosures for a Business Purpose: In the preceding 12 months, we have disclosed the categories of personal information described above to the categories of service providers described in Section 5 of this Privacy Policy (such as our payment processor, fulfillment partner, e-commerce platform, and customer messaging platform) for a business purpose. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA. [If Twice As Good Hair uses advertising pixels, cookies, or similar technologies from Meta, TikTok, Google, or other ad platforms for retargeting or interest-based advertising, this statement should be confirmed and updated, since that activity may be considered “sharing” under the CCPA and would require a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on the Site.]

Sensitive Personal Information: We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information, as defined under the CCPA, for any purpose other than the limited purposes permitted by law.

Retention: We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Your CCPA Rights: If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to request deletion of your personal information, to correct inaccurate personal information, to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To submit a request, contact us using the information in Section 13 below. We will verify your request using the contact information you provide and will respond within the time required by law.

Shine the Light: California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about disclosures of certain categories of personal information to third parties for those third parties' own direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Site and Service are not directed to children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will delete that information.
